慶元宵

元宵节  Yuán xiao jié
Lantern Festival  (January 15, Chinese Lunar Calendar)

During Lantern Festival, thousands of red and orange sky lanterns light the still night sky over the village of Pingsi creating a scene of unusual beauty. People write their New Year wishes on the lanterns before releasing them into the sky. It is believed that these wishes will be carried into heaven where the deities will fulfill them.
